Manly Sea Eagles 2011 NRL Grand Final Winners
FACT #1 - No team has ever won the NRL Grand Final from outside the top four (under the McIntyre system).
In the 2011 season the Sea Eagles finished in second place where as the Warriors battled up from sixth.
FACT #2 - Battle of the coaches goes to Des Hasler (with the best hair in the competition) and his eight years of experience and 59% success rate. What becomes more convincing is Manly and Warriors have clashed on 10 occasions with the record reading 8-2 in favour of Des Hasler.
FACT #3 – NRL Rugby league matches are usually decided by the teams who score the most points while allowing their opponents the least amount of points. The entire 2011 NRL season, no team has scored more points than Manly who average 23.3 per game. Defensively the Sea Eagles were strong allowing on average just 13.6 points per game.
FACT #4 - The Manly Sea Eagles were also the second best side in the competition when it comes to missed tackles. Manly missed an average of 26.7 tackles per game in 2011 vs. the Warriors with 34.5 and the second worst in the competition.
FACT #5 – The historical game stats favor the Sea Eagles with Manly dominating 13 wins in 20 encounters (the Sea Eagles and Warriors first met back in 1995). For the Sea Eagles, that equates to an impressive 65% success rate against the NZ Warriors. For the Warriors, only one other team (St George Illawarra) has a greater winning record against them (77.8 per cent).
