Joseph Kony is the leader of the LRA in Uganda and the Congo who has kidnapped thousands of children, and is currently kidnapping more and forcing them to kill and be violent- sometimes forcing them to maim or kill their own family members. Invisible Children is trying to bring awareness to Kony’s actions to stop him and end the war.
Right now there are more people on Facebook then there were 200 years ago.
Humanities greatest desire is to belong and connect and now, we see each other, we hear each other, we share what we love and it reminds us what we all have in common.
And this connection is changing the way the world works. Governments are trying to keep up. And older generations are concerned.
The game has new rules, the next 27minutes are an experiment but in order for it to work you have to pay attention.
#stopkony refers to a campaign started by Invisible Children. On March 5th, a short documentary was released outlining the heinous war crimes committed by Joseph Kony against children. This campaign also seeks and demands Joseph Kony be brought to international justice for his crimes in Central Africa. Both the documentary and more information can be found at invisiblechildren.com.
